Navy Mig-29 trainer jet crashes in Goa, pilots safeA Mig-29K trainer aircraft with two pilots onboard crashed today in South Goa's Dabolim soon after it took off for a training mission. Both the pilots have managed to eject safely. The aircraft involved in the crash was a trainer version of the fighter jet, a minister of defence spokesperson said.

In a statement, Ministry of Defence Spokesperson said: "During a training mission, after take off from INS HANSA at Dabolim a Mig 29k trainer aircraft suffered an engine fire. The pilots Capt M Sheokhand and Lt Cdr Deepak Yadav ejected safely."

The ministry further stated that during recovery, a bird hit and fire on the right engine was observed. Both pilots ejected and were safely removed. Aircraft crashed in open and safe area. No casualties reported.
